PDRN is short for Polydeoxyribonucleotide, a type of polydeoxyribonucleotide, which is a polymer composed of deoxyribonucleotide units, which are the basic units of DNA molecules, including deoxyribose, nitrogenous bases and phosphate groups. It was discovered and extracted from salmon by Italian scientists in the 1960s, who studied the hydrolysis products of salmon DNA.
